Traveling to Genesis Farm

For residential programs, please plan to arrive several hours early to orient yourself and to settle in. 

International travelers should plan to arrive two days prior to the program if possible. 

For departure travel, please schedule flight or train times so that you can be present through the end of the program. 

Energy Conservation
In order to conserve energy, we make every effort to coordinate participants’ travel. Please provide us with your travel information so that we can assist group travel and coordinate shuttle service wherever possible.

By Car
When you arrive at the Farm, go to the end of the driveway and park.

From Rt. I-80
Take Exit 12 (Blairstown/Hope). From the exit ramp, go north to Blairstown (Rt. 521) about 1/2 mile. Make the first right onto Route 608 (Marksboro/Silver Lake Rd). Go approximately 4.5 miles. Turn right into our driveway at the Genesis Farm sign with two mailboxes. (There is a Farmland Preservation sign across the road.)

From State Hwy Rt. 94
Silver Lake Road (Rt. 608) intersects Rt. 94 approximately 3.5 miles north of Blairstown and 11 miles south of Newton (just past Marksboro). A red building and a sign saying "Stampcrete Concrete" marks the intersection. The Farm entrance is an the left, about 1/4 mile from the intersection.

Please use Google or Yahoo for driving to Genesis Farm, 41 Silver Lake Road, Blairstown, NJ, 07825. If you use Mapquest directions, note that once you are on Rt. 608 (Silver Lake Road), you should make no turns until our driveway.

By Air

Newark International Airport (60 miles east of Genesis Farm). Allow two hours driving time from the airport to the Farm.

Lehigh Valley International Airport in Pennsylvania. (50 miles west of Genesis Farm). The only option is a car rental. Take Rt. 22 East and Rt. 33 North to I-80 East. See Traveling by Car for directions from I-80. Allow 1.5 hours driving time from the airport to the Farm.

By Bus

From the New York City Port Authority Bus Terminal:
Be sure to purchase your ticket before entering the boarding area. Check the Information Booth for directions.

        Martz Trailways to Panther Valley, NJ. Approximately $48 roundtrip. Travel time: 1.25 hours. Phone number: 800.233.8604. We will arrange for pickup from the Panther Valley Inn, which is a short walk through the parking lot from the bus stop. 

        Lakeland Bus Line to Newton, NJ (last stop). Located at the Park & Ride. Approximately $25 roundtrip. Travel time: 2 hours. Phone number: 973.366.0600. We will arrange for pickup from this stop.

By Train

From NYC Penn Station to Hackettstown on the NJ Transit System, Morris & Essex Lines. Approximately 2.5 hours.

From the Newark Broad Street Station to Hackettstown on the NJ Transit System. Approximately 1.75 hours.

There are no taxis at either the train stations or the bus stops, so it is important to arrange transportation in advance.
