The Ridge and Valley Conservancy's sustained efforts to preserve precious wilderness areas, endangered habitats and farmlands takes its place within a larger movement set in motion by the groundbreaking work of Rachel Carson, the mother of the environmental and conservancy movements. Her publication, Silent Spring, cannot be overstated in bringing forth the awareness and protective policies of the last half-century. RVC's efforts in conserving precious lands in this Ridge and Valley are deeply founded on her contribution.

RVC invites you to a viewing of A Sense of Wonder, an award-winning film on the legacy of Rachel Carson, written and acted by Kaiulani Lee, whose work won national acclaim by TV journalist Bill Moyers. Ms. Lee will be at the Historic Blairstown Theater and will discuss the efforts we've made to preserve land in our region. Tickets for the film are $20.

There is a benefit wine and cheese reception at the RVC office at 16 Main Street at 2:30 p.m. with Kaiulani Lee as special guest. Tickets for both the reception and the film are $45.
