May 1 - May 12, 2018
You are invited to join us as we celebrate Beltane. Beltane is the midpoint between spring equinox and summer solstice. It marks the seasonal time of flowering in the life of the plant, a necessary activity if the plant is to produce fruit. Flowering means producing dazzling color, beauty and fragrance, all necessary for the pollination that is the key to assuring that life will go on. This cross-quarter passage with roots in the ancient Gaelic tradition celebrates the passion of Earth, the coming of the summer and the fertility of the coming year. Much of the fertility is critically dependent on the pollinators – especially honeybees, which are in decline. Pollinators are crucial if life is to go on.
We will open the portal of Beltane at 3PM on Monday May 1 and we will close the portal at 3PM on Friday May12.
Between the opening and closing rituals, materials will be available in the Ritual Hut for anyone wishing to mark this passage on their own. The ritual hut is located midway up the hillside to the right behind the office building. Please come during daylight hours.
