Transformation of a culture’s awareness, beliefs, and stories about the Universe, and the place and purpose of humans within it, is the foundation for any deep change in the world. This understanding is core to our mission as we work with others to transform the ecological devastation being caused by the western industrial economy. Through its educational programs and its commitment to action, Genesis Farm offers diverse and innovative educational experiences that inspire a comprehensive approach to change, both personal and social.

Genesis Farm is located on 231 acres of preserved farmland and open space in the beautiful ridge and valley region of northwest New Jersey. In trying to become more Earth-enhancing in our patterns of living, we offer hospitality and shared learning experiences through a variety of residential and non-residential programs, courses, hands-on workshops, and film and lecture series.
Our approach to learning is holistic – a way of seeing all people and human cultures, in addition to the lands, waters and creatures of the planet, as an evolving, interconnected web of life. We are more than the sum of our parts. Each of us in our unique body, mind, and spirit connects us to the larger community of Earth and Universe from which we have emerged. Our programs encourage the integration of body, mind and spirit within this unity.
We are deeply grateful for the insights of hosts of thinkers, scientists, artists, ecologists, activists and religious pioneers whose work we draw from, and most especially for the work of Thomas Berry and Brian Swimme.
