Traveling to Genesis Farm
Please
plan to arrive several hours before the beginning of the program, to become
oriented to the spaces and land and to settle in. We suggest that all
international travelers arrive two days prior to the program.The hospitality
fee is $60 per additional night and includes meals. (In scheduling your
departure travel, please arrange to be present through the end of the
program. If departing by airplane, allow at least two hours driving time
to Newark Airport.) We recommend using Google or Yahoo for driving directions.
If you use Mapquest directions to 41 Silver Lake Road, please note that
once you are on Rt. 608 (Silver Lake Road) you should make no turns until
our driveway.
Energy Conservation
In order to conserve energy, we make every effort to coordinate participants’
travel. Please respond to the travel questions on the enclosed Participant
Information Form so that we can arrange to do group pickups and coordinate
shuttle service wherever possible. Let us know if you are willing to carpool.
Traveling by Car
From Rt. I-80 take Exit 12 (Blairstown/Hope). From the exit ramp, go north
to Blairstown (Rt. 521). Make the first right (about 1/2 mile) onto Route
608 (Silver Lake Rd). Go approximately 4.5 miles. Turn right into our
driveway at the Genesis Farm sign, just before the 41-A and 41-B mailboxes.
(There is a Farmland Preservation sign on the left.) Come to the end of
the driveway and park. Staff can be found in the Office at the end of
the driveway or the Farmhouse on the right.
Traveling by Air
Options from Newark International Airport (60 miles east of Genesis Farm)
are:
1. Shuttle to the Farm (approximately $50-90 per person):

2. Shuttle to NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal (see Traveling by Bus).
3. Shuttle to Newark’s Broad Street Train Station (see Traveling

From the Allentown-Bethlehem (PA) Airport (50 miles west of Genesis Farm),
the only option is to rent a car. From the airport, take Rt. 22 East and
Rt. 33 North to I-80 East. See Traveling by Car for directions from I-80.
Traveling by Bus
There are two bus options. If you are traveling from New York City
Port Authority Bus Terminal. Be sure to purchase your ticket before
entering the boarding area. Check the Information Booth for directions.
1. Martz Trailways to Panther
Valley, NJ. Approximately $40 roundtrip. Travel time: 1.25 hours. Contact
800.233.8604 or www.martztrailways.com. We will arrange for pickup from
the Panther Valley Inn, which is a short walk through the parking lot
from the bus stop.
2. Lakeland Bus Line to the last
stop in Newton, NJ, located at the Park & Ride. Approximately $20

Traveling by Train
From NYC Penn Station or Newark’s Broad Street Station, take the
NJ Transit System/Morristown Line
(Morris & Essex Lines) to the last stop at Hackettstown. Contact NJ

Limo/Taxi Services: You cannot hail a taxi at either the train station or the bus stops, so it is important to arrange a car in advance if plans have not already been made. Some potential options are
